Which deserves the GOLD medal in the Worlds Final?
They were given the same start value. (scores)

At the time, end on, it looked like Mustafina had better handstands, form and line. But a far worse landing on dismount.
Tough call seeing it from this angle.
OK … I was wrong. Tie goes to the 25yr-old. Congratulations Beth.
Beth warmed up the double double dismount this week. No problem. But I guess the coaches decided she didn’t need it.

Musty had bent arms in a few spots.
I think Beth deserved the gold, because of the landing! Mustafina’s landing was off-balance and she took a couple steps. They both seemed to hit handstands (Musta maybe a little better, but not much) and both had fairly good form throughout. If Mustafina would have stuck her dismount, I think she could have pulled off the win.
I hope Beth wins in London!
For some reason your comment was flagged as spam, a false positive.
Check for that in future as it was sheer luck I saw it. .. Perhaps the filter doesn’t like anon ??
have to admit, I would have scored Aliya’s routine better then Beth’s. More hit handstands, better form, more amplitude in most skills….just my thoughts. I like Beth and think it is great that she won, but I like Musty’s routine and performance better
They showed that dismount in slow mo on the Universal replay and it looked like she had two large steps backwards. Could have gotten 0.6 off just for the dismount. (I bet she didn’t get slammed that hard, but technically by the rules should have.) In any case, well worse than Beth.
I’m surprised that the level of difficulty of these routines is the same. Tweddle’s seems much more difficult.
Mustafina’s handstands are gorgeous, but that dismount was all over the place.
I like Beth Tweddle as the winner in this. The judge’s got it right.
Watched it again. That first blind change for Beth Tweddle was way over handstand. That was almost like a fall.
sooo.. in my very humble opinion..
I liked Beth’s… it was energetic, moved, and looked like a well composed routine.
The other one lacked.. rhythm? Im not sure how to put it.. the turns were all in the wrong places, and it looked choppy… I think if they spent some time on composition, the scoring would have come out a bit different.. but.. again.. just my opinion..
Glad Tweddle one. She is one of the better examples of release, pirouettes, moving from bar to bar that we have today. I like that she seems proficient in all aspects of bars.
I really don’t see how somebody’s turns could be in the wrong place. Where are they supposed to be?
Beth is proficient in everything except pirouettes. Just sayin’.
