Yeah…the Hamms didn’t give 50,000 bucks to USAG when USAG tried to strongarm them with “the tour”. USAG should just enjoy the gold medals and STFU.

I’ve heard buzz that the Hamms have ‘not given enough back to USAG’. Funny, don’t gold medals and the kind of excitement that this rumor creates about men’s gymnastics count for something?

Hamm is going to be close to 30 by 2012. He might have a hard time beating Uchimura at that point, but he will have the advantage of not having constantly hammered his body.

He was going to compete at VISAs actually (when that workout video was flimed). But his shoulder flared up and he lost a month of training. In addition, I think it just drove home to him that he needs to be very conservative about his body even when he feels ready difficulty wise.

OK, I was wrong. Again. But I don’t care. Paul Hamm is my favorite gymnast of all time.

I’m glad he’s coming back. I bet Hamm makes it back into competition before Shawn or Nastia.

He probably can’t beat Uchimura, but who knows.

If he can regain his old form, maybe the American men can get that team gold they have been dreaming of…I think the rest of the gang is already looking pretty good.

Hamm scored a 93.45 at ’08 VISAs… obviously over 94.00 if he hadn’t broken his hand. A healthy Paul Hamm will easily be America’s best gymnast. No other American gymnast, so far, can come close to scoring 15.00+ on each and every event. His return to the sport couldn’t have come at a better time. He’s going to make everybody else better. It sure would be nice to see him give Uchimura a run for the money.
