Check out some of the training at our 3-day FUN camp in St. John’s, Newfoundland July 9-11, 2010.
At this camp any gymnast could register. We had a wide range of experience and ability, boys and girls.
Click PLAY or watch it on YouTube.
Thanks to host Cygnus Gymnastics who have a new Head Coach arriving later in July, Ashley Sportun from Oakville Gymnastics.
Shout out to the hard working coaches, too. I really appreciated your efforts!
Here the ladies are both spotting AND holding upright the “tower of power”.
If interested, visit the home page of the FUN camp for more information.

At Bluehost, this blog has been hacked once or twice each year. Each time they blame me. I blame them.
I’d love to move it to a host that takes responsibility for security, but have yet to find one aside from WordPress.com … an alternative that has other problems.
THIS TIME was different.
This time Google, not my host, flagged some code that I had added as “suspect”.
This time it was my fault … though it’s far from certain that the suspect code was actually malicious.
Sorry about the inconvenience.
Leave a comment if you have advice, especially on a host that would both move the site and make a commitment to handling security issues.
Did the girl who did HS, stepdown, BWO on beam switch legs in the HS for aesthetic reasons, or because she needed to because “that’s the leg she starts BWO with”?
Also, I liked the first series of tumbling shown. Why were they tumbling up hill? Could you expand upon what that is used for?
The “candle” drill is ideal for teaching beginners not to throw the head backwards. It encourages a good lift of the arms, as well.
I’m not sure on the HS step-down, Anna.
It was “new move” day so they might have been experimenting with both. Likely she happened to learn her kick up to handstand and walkover those ways.
