Shout out to the recently expanded Campia Gymnastics for hosting the past 2 days of our Men’s Gymnastics Canada Winter Games Training Camp.
Looks like we killed this one.
This hip bar mat is perfect. (I stuffed it in my gymbag before departing Campia.)
Campia Coaches stayed after workout Tuesday night to participate in the USAproject2012 LIVE presentation → Mary Lee Tracy - Tumbling complex for floor
If your club can’t afford the high price ($199 / night), you could check out the free video clips (over 200) posted on the USAproject2012 YouTube channel.
UPDATE: There’s some kind of promotion offering free access for July 6 and July 13th … but I’m not sure how you can get those. Leave a comment if you know how.

I got an email that said the following “Join us for a FREE sample of our LIVE ONLINE coaches seminar with Mary Lee Tracy teaching “Tumbling Complex For Floor” on Tuesday, July 6th at 6pm PST/9pm EST or Tammy Biggs teaching “Training For Speed and Cardio” on Tuesday, July 13th at 6pm PST/9pm EST. All you need to do is click here and write for more information and instructions on how to access your free online session!”
The ‘click here’ bit came up with a blank page
I don’t get the saying in the picture, “Hockey players learn from their mistakes…Gymnasts learn from their coaches.”
Does this mean that hockey players don’t learn from coaches and that gymnasts don’t learn from mistakes…or worse…don’t make them?
I am confused.
It’s a typical Canadian joke to make fun of the DOMINANT sport in our region, ice hockey.
The reference, I assume, is that hockey players compete too much, train too little. Where in gymnastics we train year round, hardly ever competing.
Ah.
