It’s for the first time a demonstration sport in the World University Games (Universiade) in Shenzhen (CHN), August 12 – 23, 2011.
The sport’s been growing on me too, over the past few years. Certainly I admire the incredible level of fitness required. Acrobatic Gymnastics has a greater audience appeal, however, in my opinion.

I dunno, this is pretty appealing. And those twisting jumps they do sometimes look BETTER than the ones “graceful” gymnasts do. And HEY the aerobic gymnasts actually perFORM.
love this! I studied abroad in spain, and I wanted to look into gymnastics programs to see what I could learn- this was the only discipline of gym they did in the city I lived in- unbelievable the popularity!
I just can’t stop laughing when I watch it… Maybe I’m just a bad person.
The men especially, they just look like they’ve donned a sparkly unitard and lost the plot.
