USA Project 2012 – $699

Term 1 begins June 15th.

… the Academy of Coaching Excellence presents, Project 2012: a Web Event for Coaches, highlighting the essential techniques for gymnastics success in the next quadrennium. This web event brings the best coaches in the United States to your computer screen doing LIVE lectures and demonstrations on the most important cutting-edge information in our sport.

NEW! 2010 Summer Sessions begin June 15! Sign up for for one session at $199 or all four at $699.

Cost has really gone up. Winter 2009 was only US$199 for 6wks.

It’s a great program. But, honestly, how many club owners are going to pay $700 for their staff?

TERM 1: June 15 – July 13
TERM 2: July 20 – August 17
Terms 1 & 2 will be Tuesday evenings, 6pm PST / 9pm EST

TERM 3: August 24 – September 21
TERM 4: September 28 – October 26
Terms 3 & 4 will be Tuesday mornings, 9am PST / 12pm EST

June 15th
Cheryl Jarrett: Beam compulsory – training drills and progressions: are you doing them correctly?

June 22nd
Tony Gehman: Taking the angles out of tumbling

June 29th
Larry Nassar: Upper extremity injury rehabilitation progressions

July 6th
Mary Lee Tracy: Tumbling complex for floor

July 13th
Tammy Biggs: Training for speed and cardio

Each session consists of different topics. Participate in one or all four sessions, depending on your availability and interest. Coaches will learn cutting edge information from the best clinicians in our country! Sessions include 45 minutes of lecture and 15 minutes of question and answer, using live lecture, video, power point, and of course your questions, all on your computer. Watch it live or watch the recording from anywhere you’d like.

I don’t know of many clubs that would pay for that. The other aspect of that is how many coaches make decent enough money that they can invest that kind of dough in their own education?
If I thought that something like this would get me a raise or help with future job applications, I might consider saving up for it. I highly doubt that it would affect my future ability to obtain jobs and/or raise my payscale.

It’d be a bit more appealing if it took place in person. $699 does not guarantee reliable video streaming.

the good club owners will spend the money!!
my former boss in san jose pays for any of his coaches to go to the region one congress. they are always the club with the most representation there.

Best thing to do is have all staff attend or record the sessions and mandate all staff to watch instead of spending on regional congresses.

It would be a cheap solution instead of Regional Congress.
