Do you have a swim up bar?
Valeri Liukin does.
Nastia calls him “King of the Grill“.

And people say there is no money in gymnastics…
Nice. I’d say with his personal success, three gyms, and two olympic all-around champions, he’s earned it.
There’s money in gymnastics when you own the gym. That’s why you often see coaches split off from a gym and start their own club.
There’s money in owning a gym when it’s WOGA. Valeri and Evgeny created the most successful private gym in the world. Of course they’re rich.
I wonder what he’s worth?
Think he could use another daughter? I’ll coach at WOGA anytime!
Man, I’ve got to leave the Northeast and head to Texas.
Must be nice.
I heard the house is a mansion complete w servants & personal assistants! Hey they have worked their butts off and they deserve it!
I have met Anna, Valeri & Nastia and they are so gracious, classy and unpretentious.
Depends on your definition of mansion. They live in a prosperous area with lots of big houses. It’s a big-ass house, that’s true. AFAIK, no servants, no assistants.
its a nice bar but,if you own the land why would u build an above ground pool??
Maybe they wanted it level with their deck.
Could also be on a hill.
At least he didn’t buy a ranch and insist it become the National Training Center.
Valeri’s great. Very down to earth.
And generous. The night Nastia won her first Senior VISA Championships he bought drinks for the ENTIRE BAR over a couple of hours. Must have cost him $800.
Although I’m a good Republitarian (as all red meat eating ‘mericuns should be), something about Valeri’s digs brings out my inner Elsworth Toohey. I beat it down, though.
(I still think Shawn deserved the gold in Beijing, though. Really watch the routines and look at how much form break Nastia had…but kudos to the Liukins for playing the code smart and doing what they could with Nastia’s underpoweredness…I guess it says something good about Val as a coach, that he can train a girl who is so unlike him in tumbling.)
