Is it in the MAG code of points? What is its difficulty rating? (I can try and look it up myself, but I am not so familiar with the MAG CoP).

always fun to watch, I particularly liked the guy doing them in the snow all bundled up.

Morgan Hamm was getting something for it, I assume a D-part.

I heard they sent it in and were getting a D for it. I think it needs to be at least a D to be “named”. Since, he didn’t do it in the right competition, it is still “unnamed”. I don’t know if they will put it in the COP or not. I guess they could add it, sans name.

Also, the Hamms did the politically correct thing and sent it in as an element and got FIG to rule on it (which in a sense makes gym judging fairer). But it is not a requirement to send it in ahead of time (just “encouraged”). Anyone can throw a new element in any competition and then the at the time judges, just have to decide what to award it (at that time!)*

*of course some elements are banned or have no skill rating.

A gymnast at NAIGC nationals did air flares in his floor routine. I have to find a video of it, as he’s the only person beside Morgan Hamm to compete it.
