thats my gymnast,M’rcy Matsunami, she placed 5th at JO Nationals with that routine.
she is currently a sophomore and looking for a college scholarship. Any takers!!!!!!!!!!!
she is also working on adding a half to it for next year and it will be called the Matsunami!!
I go to Premier Gymnastics in Omaha NE! I’m working on that same skill with a half turn for next season!
Perhaps she could pop down to the low bar after the release? The extra swing grip change is odd.
What’s it worth? Any menses doin it? Can it be done without the toe on?

Awesome. She really takes that up nice and high before flipping. Agree with Monica that the composition is odd though after the catch. Would like to see her do some type of immediate swing into a transition to the low bar.
I would join the bitching if it was nasty but she’s nice and clean so I’m happy to see this rare skill even with the built-in empty swing. It’s true she could’ve waited to use this skill until she could do it into a transition or with a half into a kip but most gymnasts don’t show harder skills/combinations before the easier ones so I’m not surprised that she didn’t do that either.
It’s actually not very clean (yet) but it’s a hella hard skill and I’m sure she’ll get those knees and toes straightened out well before her senior year. That kid’s got guts!

Actually, it doesn’t pass for clean. I guess I was just blinded by the skill itself. At first, I didn’t even look at anything past 0:11. :p My bust.
Awesome skill, awesome routine M’rcy. I can’t imagine you having any trouble getting a scholarship.
