Looks like a more impressive field of men than women, but should be a good competition.

It’s not “ScamAmerican Cup.” It’s ScAm Cup. Thanx.

Although there’s six US gymnasts who made it this far into the SCAmerican Cup, one can’t help but to cheer for Rebecca on the Floor Exercise or Chris on the Pommel Horse. All in all, I do wish them all good fortune to do their very best. That’s all one may ask of such athletes.

why doesn’t this event draw a better field? It’s kinda anticlimatic and very passable tv viewing (granted there is so little gymnastics on tv that I’ll take what I can get).

I think it’s because the meet is early in the season. I also thought it might be because of the lower amount of prize money that’s on offer but that doesn’t seem to be effecting the mens’ side of the meet.

USA! USA!

History – no matter how everyone performs, the Americans always end up winning for the most part. Sometimes they deserved it, oftentimes they did not. Who wants to send gymnasts that early in the season to a competition that is somewhat “fixed”?

Serious competitors to the top American girls are reluctant to enter due to the long history of the Americans being over-scored. It’s a TV event, revenues and ratings helped a lot if the Americans win.

Over time it’s evolved into a meet where good gymnasts, but not those expecting to beat Bross attend. Those girls for whom it’s still “an honour” to attend.
