Alexandra Raisman – Beam

Two talking points:

• doesn’t she remind you of Alicia on Beam?
• what a dismount!

Click PLAY or watch it on YouTube.

She’s certainly not going to win the Longine’s Elegance Award.

But a routine that steady will take her a long way.

[...] likes Raisman’s beam (video) more than I do. But his criticism of F.I.G. judging is totally valid. They box Execution scores [...]

Well, since Raisman debuted this dismount, it has just made everyone on the forums complain even more about Bross’s. This was probably probably one of the best Patterson dismounts done. She would only lose .1 on her leg separation while everyone else is being hit .3, at least in FIG competition.

Amazing routine! This is the BEST Patterson I’ve seen, no doubt. Ever. Of all time.
How she only scored a 9.150 is beyond me. Especially when Bross scored 9.100 for a routine full of wobbles, a huge hop on the dismount and after she almost fell on the full turn (which she was lucky to have got credit for on the first place).

I’d say Hunter’s is just as good.

No, she doesn’t remind me that much of Alicia and if one more commentator says that I will kick them in the nuts.

Also, I found her dismount to be rather low. It didn’t pop off the beam the way Carly’s and Bross’s could.

They do box the scores. Effing judges will NEVER allow this sport to get the credit it deserves.

She’s great… Besides that horribly rushed dance move where she lies down on the beam, flicks her hand up and stands back up. 5 seconds that should be erased from that routine.

Im with Hannah. That low to the beam bit was a killer. Great skills tho.

Oh, Kytra’s Patterson was amazing too. Plus, I LOVE her floor work! There’s no reason why she shouldn’t make the 2010 Worlds Team. She could actually win FX!

rebecca bross did have a bit of trouble, but she did not wobble throughout the whole routine like many people seem to think. that being said, aly raisman should have gotten a higher e score for her routine. i just loved her confidence, and that dismount was something else!!!!!
