I was at the meet and was very confused with EHH’s 10. The judges first showed a 10 and a 9.5. Then the UCLA’s head coached talked to the judges and a 10 was awarded. No doubt that EHH did a great job and deserved a high score just wondering why the 9975 wasn’t awarded?

I agree with the 10.0 on both. I also agree with the comments about the various tiny breaks in both, but had I been judging it live, I most likely would not have noticed. That being said, I like Grace’s routine better as a whole. EHH had great skills and unique combinations, but the choreography was odd. Seemed like it was just a bunch of arm waves sandwiched in between skills, whereas Grace’s had more of a flow. Nice job ladies!

As a Canadian and a great fan of all of CA’s gymnasts from the old Seneca days, it kills me to admit this, but I vote Grace Taylor – by a long shot! The rhythm on the dsmt however is somewhat peculiar…

I don’t think Grace deserved a 10.0, she had breaks on her full L turn, a leg separation on her pike, and a low dismount. Elyse Hopfner-Hibbs uses skills nobody else does, and the skills she uses that other people use she takes higher and does them cleaner than everyone else. Although EHH had a small break after her Illusion. But out of the two, EHH did much, much better.

It’s hard to say. At first, EHH I thought was better, and then her flow got crappy at the end of the routine. Grace flowed a bit better and I liked her hold. EHH had a little more uniqueness to her routine and I love the aerial to layout. I say I like BOTH best!

EHH no question. Love the uniqueness of it. but there are still improvements to be made in her fluidity.

If the question is what routine do you like better, than I would have to say Taylor, however, if there is an argument whether either should’ve gotten a ten… I would say no! From the videos, it looked like EHH wobbled on her turn skill, and Taylor’s pike jump had separation… on the plus side they were great routines!

I politely disagree. I thought EHH did a better job, and that Grace was overscored. Nothing against Grace, but EHH deserved that 10 far more than Grace did.
