why I love short track

What’s the essence of sport?

People challenging others to see who’s “best” under some arbitrary set of rules.

Short Track Speed Skating is exactly that.

The race itself is madness. There’s a delicious uncertainty about who’s going to win.

I just read that that was Australia’s first ever winter Olympic gold medal. Cool.

heck ya! I’d take it…the other skaters were doing what they thought they needed to to win and it didn’t work out for them…Bradbury’s strategy just happen to pay off for him that time.

I’m an aussie, and let me tell you – Bradbury’s a legend over here! If you happen to win/achieve something by chance or pure luck it’s called “doing a Bradbury”…
The guy seems like the best bloke, really great to watch in interviews. And to come back after breaking your neck to win gold… awesome!

I’m also an Aussie and he is an absolute champion! His whole strategy was to sit back and wait for his moment. The first gold medal for the Aussies was a legendary one!

Did you know if the other competitors just lay on the ice and refused to finish they would have had to re-run it. But they all scrambled for the silver and it was determined that the race was fair. Love it!

Only one criticism for the guy- ‘you are going bald, let go of the long spikes’! hahaha

why is he legend for getting beyond lucky? or does he have other accomplishments? honestly not trying to sound mean, but he really did get beyond lucky that night.
