Oft injured Rebecca should be in good shape for March 6th, the American Cup.
How’s she doing?
Click PLAY or watch her beam from the WOGA meet this weekend on YouTube.
Should she replace that Sheep Jump?
Update. Marcus points out it’s not as bad as it looks at full speed.
Check the comments for other concerns.
Rebecca is a fantastic gymnast. But is she fantastic enough to be the next Olympic Champion from WOGA? …
I’m not convinced she is. Rebecca’s legs, especially on bars, are very deductible.

Her sheep jump looks alright to me.

I wanna see her go for a switch ring on the beam, I’m sure it would be huge.
I think she should change the side somi first
i don’t think the sheep jump was bad…other than the step on the landing. i’m just wondering if she’s ever going to land that patterson dismount consistently. carly nailed that more often then she didn’t. i have rarely seen bross do it in cleanly
Her leaps are kinda messy in my opinion! the switch and the split jump, her back leg is bent in both (if we must complain about this routine lol) pretty awesome besides that! I must say she has those legs that ‘look’ bent even in her little leg lifts that she does throughout the routine
Keep the sheep jumps. Its not an olympic year or even the year before an olympic year. Nows the time to get some experience with the big tricks. Now if she still having major issues two years from now…thats a different story. The bigger concern for me is the leaps. Major form breaks in the leaps. Thats not a matter of confidence or being a little off, thats a technical problem that will result in big deductions internationally.
Bross has knock knees, her legs will NEVER look straight, that’s just how they’re built.
Before her injuries, Bross was very consistent with here double arabian.
Here are some solid ones

Seems like since she’s grown and wasn’t training beam for all that time, she has problems finding the landing.
I agree with Sheena that her biggest problems come from having those legs that looked bent even when they are straight. not sure she can fix that, but the good news is that internationally she was a small stumble away from being the world AA champ in 2009 so she’s obviously ranking pretty well against the competition so far.
I don’t think she has the type of leg that looks bent even when it’s straight. I know some gymnasts are like that but I think when Bross’ leg looks bent, it’s because it’s bent.
There’s definitely SOMETHING wrong with Bross’ knees

Yeah, there is something wrong with her legs but she has a different problem than someone who’s leg doesn’t look straight even when it is.

She has bent knee’s and you can try and make excuses for her all you want. Dominique Moceanu had the same problem. I think she looks great in the last picture if she could settle for that it would be an improvement.
I just can’t get over the strange arm lift/hurdle she does into the round-off. How does she get any power from that?
I believe she suffers from Osgood-Shlatter disease, plus she had major knee surgery in 2009, (probably among other injuries), and a growth spurt. But, she’s an incredible gymnast with lots of power, mental determination and strength, and intensity. Can’t wait to see her in the 2012 Olympics.
