In High School Physical Education, obviously, I was the teacher’s assistant for the Gymnastics Module. The football players got paid back.

Best was watching them try to cross support on low rings. Hilarious.

In 8th grade I (a female) competed doing doorway pullups against several of the football players and beat them all. And I can still beat most men today. Reminds me of that post you had before where the Georgia gymnasts squared off against the Georgia football team and put em in their place!

At my high school the gymnasts but that saying up on their banner.

Then the football players put up “If gymnastics was a sport they would have fans”

So apparently neither of them are sports, and the world’s obsessions both every four years (gymnastics), and every year (football), are just pointless activities :)

“if gymnastics was easy it would be called football”

I really find such quotes annoying and find both camps who do so equally as annoying.

Considering football is performed on the feet and not from a hang, no duh about the PU.

Very few gymnasts will ever be as fast or jump as high and leg strong as some football players.

Actually gymnastics could be labeled as an athletic endeavor as their is not an active oppositional team trying to deny you being able to perform your routine. It’s just you and the equipment. There is a team factor in it but it’s not the same.

I’d like to see some numbers on the amount of force when missing a release and hitting the ground but I don’t think it would be as high as being hit in a tackle into the ground.

Agreed. They are all sports and we should enjoy them. There are some differences of course (benefits of size are inverse). Team aspect. Beauty. But at least in HS, it’s not unheard of for good all around athletes to compete in both.

I hate that saying!!!

It’s like saying that if pizza tasted bad, it would be called fish. It’s just silly. Having done both sports and been a Marine, I can tell you that both sports are easy compared to being in the Marine Corps.

I just never understand why we have to diminish the great qualities of one sport to raise up our sport. Our sport is hard, but so is football, and to say anything different is to create animosity.

So, please, everyone, stop this annoying statement!!!

That quote just reeks of pure jealousy by the gymnasts. Sorry that nobody takes your favored sport seriously.
