From Gymnastics Australia President Ken Williamson:
I wish to advise that Jane Allen, Chief Executive Officer of Gymnastics Australia, tendered her resignation as of 1st February 2010. Jane has accepted the position of CEO of British Gymnastics and subject to visa approval will commence in her new position in April 2010. …
What a move. To the nation hosting the next Olympics. Congratulations Jane.
Thanks David.

I’m sure she is fantastic but I feel quite sad that such an important position at such an important time cant be filled by someone in the UK
Jane was a terrific administrator who loved GA and led from the front as the CEO of GA, over an extended period of time.
However, the world is a global market place!
We (Aust Olympic Sports) need to be able to compete on the world stage and for that matter local level against our mainstream sports, if we want to remain competitive, meaning the money we pay and how we look after our top Olympic sports administrators & athletes.
Relying on government funding is not the answer. Jane’s move is a clear indication of that! Just ask our Olympic athletes who are competing against athletes from other countries who train x 7 days a week, have the very best programs, Coaches and resources available at their finger tips and don’t need a day job to supplement their income! Furthermore, this effects the talent pool of athletes we can select from as they naturally gravitate towards mainstream sports that they can make a proper living from.
Time to stop sitting on our hands as there are many other examples of Coaches, administrators and athletes departing our shores. Time to change the rules of engagement and the existing landscape. Time to pull together agree on a strategy and to act now.
