Sérgio is an up-and-coming gymnast who’s not got nearly as much press as he deserves.
His Parallel Bar routine has a combination you’ve never seen before.

Fantastic combination!
Loved that
Nice. Good combination of strength AND flexibility. Also must have some Japanese heritage based on the last name…good luck to him!
OMG! That was amazing! Give him a different dismount (aren’t you sick and tired of double pikes?) and this could very well be the most refreshing routine in the world! Well done!
This guy will be a big player in the 2012 olympics!
I saw him just a few weeks ago in the gymnasiades in Doha where he won almost everything. He’s really powerful and explosive and still so artistic. And we could see the artistic side of him even better since it was a junior competition with the junior COP. And I have to add that he’s only 17yo!
Here’s his FX from the PanAms:
and he has only 17 years old and a long way in gymnastics! In a interview that I saw on tv, he said that he don’t wanna be another gymnast that trained all life to show an easy routines with good execution; he said that he wanna be a champion, and, in my opinion, is the most important in a head of a gymnast: wanna be a champion!
