Kohei Uchimura – triple back Kovacs

Check out the skill our new World Champion is training on Horizontal Bar.

It’s at 5min in a long Japanese interview.

I’ve linked to the correct part of the video. Simply click to watch it on YouTube – 2009.12.17 Kohei Uchimura interview part 2 of 2

Could a male gymnast compete triple back regrasp before a female gymnast competes double back regrasp?

Uchimura seems to be able to do just about anything. With ease.

Barcelona1992 posted the original video on Gymnastike. Thanks.

UPDATE: He’s playing with a handspring front triple full on vault, as well.

Pretty sweet. There is one, maybe two videos I’ve seen of a woman doing a kovacs. Never in a major competition, though.

WOW! also looks like he’s working front handspring layout 3/1 at the end….wow!

I always hear about those Kovacs, TP, but I’ve yet to see a single video. Not even in training without a regrasp.

Gaylord 2 I have seen.

Ok, that settles it. Uchimura isn’t human.

I second Geoffrey Taucer.. Uchimura is a machine, sent from the the future.
Can anyone tell me who is Uchimura’s coach?, and what is his kinda background?

WOW thanks for the post amazing!!

wildly awesome. but as far as the men doing a triple over the bar before a woman does a double, i’d be interested to see a man do the double on the unevens. hello, when there’s a second bar to be dealt with, how can a comparison even be made. great post, though.
