Congratulate her.

That’s a sign of hard work.

We had a picture of one of our pommel horse guy’s hands where he ripped from horse posted in our gym. It remains one of my favorite pictures ever.

Let’s not send those grips to Bangladesh, eh?

#4 diana on 12.10.09 at 10:57 pm

does blood wash out of the grips???

#5 coach Rick on 12.11.09 at 1:06 am

Nope. We don’t wash away blood on leather. Over time, slowly, the chalk will absorb and blanket the old stain.

I am 12 and I am in level 9, I always get rips like that, what can I use to help it?

#11 coach Rick on 07.09.10 at 5:39 am

Some people have skin that rips more easily. …

hmmm. Could you train more on the safety straps, fewer turns on the “real” bars?

#12 Kaylee on 07.14.10 at 12:00 am

Haha, you are a level nine and you dont know already that odds are you will get them every now and then no matter what. it happens when you spin around something over and over again. :) Friction..= Blisters.. which equals RIPS :)

Hey all! There’s a new product for gymnastics rips that will be introduced nationally at the USAG National Tradeshow. Check us out! http://www.ripguardian.com If you’re going to congress stop by and grab some free samples!

When I get rips like that my coach pulls me over to show the little ones and says:”That;s what happens when you work hard. And see? She’s totally fine.” But seriously its not as bad as it looks.

your mean to Ella Kaylee p.s i’m a level 13 what are you

#23 gymnast ashley on 05.30.11 at 1:38 pm

I am 12 and in level 4. I may not be that high in the levels but i do know how to help heal blood rips fast. All you need to do is soak it in water and rinse the blood off than just leave it to rest and do not do bars for a good two weeks.

I’m 11 years old and I have just started gymnastics, like 2-3 weeks ago,and there was a girl on bars that ripped her hand really bad.So my mom called me and said,”thats what will happen in gymnastics if you work really hard.”My favorite things to do in gymnastics are the bars.I just hope it will never be that bad!Good work!:)))
