Alicia Sacramone – new Floor routine

Shawn is “training”. … OK, in the gym for a few days.

But I’m far, far more optimistic about a possible comeback by Alicia Sacramone. Last I heard, she was “she was working her way back on vault and beam and hopes to add in floor at some point.”

That point is now.

From @PrecisionLA on twitter:

Alicia Sacramone’s routine is officially done! thanks to mgc for letting us work in the gym and look out world…SAC IS BACK!!

Alicia is superhuman on vault, the most powerful female gymnast I’ve ever seen. I don’t think it would take her long to get back on that apparatus.

2008 U.S. Olympic Team Trials - Gymnastics Day 4

… And, she’s got a lot to prove.

Precision Los Angeles has a division called Precision Choreography. That’s Nicole Langevin, Alicia Sacramone, Courtney L. McCool, Natalie Briggs, Rachel Rosenberg, Jordan Goldberg and other professionals.

How much would it cost to have Courtney McCool choreograph my Floor routine?

From Nicole at Precision: Our current rates run between $305-$425. Special considerations are made for large groups and combos (beam and floor choreography).

Update: Andrea in the comments thinks it’s about $500 a routine for a Precision Choreography routine. (You might pay that much for the best choreographer in my city.)

Well Alicia came down here with that Precision LA choreography and it was $500 a routine.

I wouldn’t say Sac is the most powerful.

I think Laschenova, Atler, and Zmeskal were more naturally powerful than ASac, and had we actually seen the max of their capabilities without injuries I think they’d have beat much of the men in their time.

I don’t know that I’d want Alicia doing my routine. She’s not exactly a great dancer and her choreo was never good, let alone great. Still, she has the name and $500 a routine is nothing to sneeze at.

The only thing I don’t like about Alicia and Shawn making “comebacks” is that I really, REALLY like the new batch of juniors we have and I want to see them shine. Many of them have nice lines and a hint of creativity and art to their routines.

I guess I’ll just have to wait for the Russians to make their comeback in 2011 :)

i LOVE Alicia Sacramone’s gymnastics, but Rick, are you forgetting Yelena Prudunova?
She’s the most powerful vaulter i’ve ever seen….
Merry CHristmas to you my friend!

I think Sacramone could benefit from doing less difficulty on FX and maximizing E score. I’ve thought of some routines she can do on BB and FX.

Beam
Front pike mount (D)
Tour jete 1/2 (D)
Front tuck (D)
BHS (B) LO (E) 0.1
Full turn (A)
Switch side (C)
Switch leap (C) Sissone (A)
Front pike (E)
BHS (B) FF (B) Double pike (E) 0.2

CR 2.5
CV 0.3 – 2.8
3E 1.5 – 3.3
3D 1.2 – 5.5
2C 0.6 – 6.1

FX
L turn 2/1 (D)
Full-in (E)
1-1/2 (C) RO FF Double tuck (D) 0.1
Switch leap (B)…Tour jete 1/2 (C)
FHS Front LO 1/1 (C)
Gogean (D)
Double pike (D)

CR 2.5
CV 0.1 – 2.6
1E 0.5 – 3.1
4D 1.6 – 4.7
3C 0.9 – 5.6

While the $500 is pretty expensive, I have seen the routines she choreographed along with the other one’s the owner of the company did and they are pretty great!!!

Prudnova was awesome. But I’m certain Alicia would easily do handspring front HIGHER up on to a stack of mats.

Prudnova was technically brilliant at front salto and twist. Alicia more “powerful” … I never realized this about Sacramone until I saw her live. She’s vaults handspring front like a guy.

That’s my story. I’m sticking with it.

Atler was amazing. Some of the top College girls were powerful on vault. But I cannot think of anyone close on handspring front. Alicia is only average for Yurchenko, however.

I’d do it for $175…..

Rick, go back and look at Prudonova’s vault at the ‘99 University Games and tell me if you still feel the same.

I don’t think any woman has ever vaulted like that.

Somebody, help me out, didn’t she do a tsuk double as well at some point? Maybe it wasn’t in competition, but in training on video somewhere.

I agree. I think Sacramone is more powerful. I think her Yurchenko form is gorgeous. Her power may be just ok, but her form in the air is so much better than most of the other vaulters doing doubles.

This is the owner of Precision. We’ve never charged $500 for a routine. Thanks for the feedback though!
Alicia’s routine looks fantastic. She took a lot of risks and it is going to be very memorable. Can’t wait for the world to see it!

#12 coach Rick on 12.25.09 at 9:36 pm

What is the “range” of routine cost, Nicole?

#13 Nicole on 12.26.09 at 9:20 am

Hi Rick, our current rates run between $305-$425. Special considerations are made for large groups and combos (beam and floor choreography).

Thanks, Nicole. I updated the post, deleting the reference to $500.

Thanks, Rick!

#17 gymnast Oksana Chusovitina comeback age-34 — Gymnastics Coaching.com on 12.26.09 at 8:18 pm

[...] Speaking of powerful vaulters not retiring, GymNiceTic translated a GYMmedia post (German): … Oksana Chusovitina plans to compete in 2010! At the moment, she trains everyday on vault, which she will hopefully show at the World Cup in Cottbus next March (in three month!), as well as on beam for the Worlds in Rotterdam. [...]

Hmmm that’s weird…that’s what I was told I would be charged for a routine. But I didn’t talk to Nicole directly, it was told to me. So…I think I’ll trust the owner of the company. :) Sorry Nicole!

No problem, Andrea!

Alicia was on an episode of “What I hate about me.”
