Check the Floor routine of Brazil’s Sérgio Sasaki on YouTube – 1/2-in, 1/1-out mount (14.950)
Even with Sérgio, I’m still trying to grok how Brazil was able to beat the USA in the team competition.
Thanks Erin.

You’re a trip with a short memory. USA MAG has shown that they can fall apart. Thirteenth place at 2006 Worlds? These are juniors but I bet they have the same problems. Combine it with a Brazilian team that could’ve been on or simply just that good and Brazil beats USA. And maybe Brazil just flat out beat them because they were better. Remember USA WAG losing to Canada at Pan Ams in, what, 1999? And in 1997 and 1999 Worlds USA WAG finished sixth behind France and Australia.
1997 worlds – 1)China 2)Belarus 3)Russia 4)Japan 5)USA
1999 worlds- 1)China 2)Russia 3)Belarus 4)Japan 5)Korea 6)USA
I think Fifth and Sixth for USA MAG in 1997 and 1999 was a good result for them since they had been 9th in 1994 and 1995. USA WAG went from first in 1996 to sixth behind France and Australia in 1997 and 1999…and losing to Canada at Pan Ams. Team standings change all the time.
it is so simple! Brazil was better then USA! Did USA have always win?
My apologies, Cedrick.
Looking at the scores now, clearly Brazil was the best team.
I’d like to talk to the judges too, however. The worst Men’s judging I’ve ever seen was at Pan Am Games in South America. (I’m a judge and have judged Pan Ams myself.) … But, in this case, with the new code, the mighty American team simply got beat by Brazil.
