Right. Cross out is good for flagging mistakes made. But I mucked that one up.

I love saying the name Hristakieva (she also has the Yurchenko Arabian vault named after her). But I still call the release skill a Def because it’s shorter to type and is more recognizable.

Hey, you lined out the wrong part. It IS named after Def on HB. It’s also named after Hristakayeva because she was the first WAG to transfer it to uneven bars. Some people stil call “Mo Saltos” and “Khorkinas” a “Gaylord” or “Marinich” when done on uneven bars. It’s just part of the gymnastics tradition that just about every skill has umpty kabillion names.

As sherm said, it is named after her, but come on which name would you rather refer to it as?

It actually is named after her but nobody calls it the Hristikayeva. Could be because she wasn’t as well known as Mo Huilan or Khorkina. A Mo salto is really a Gaylord and a Khorkina is really a Marinich.
