The torch run has begun for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.
Olympic triathalete gold medalist Simon Whitfield and speed skating gold medalist Catriona Le May Doan light the Olympic torches as the first people to carry the Olympic torch from the Legislature as part of the Olympic torch relay.

Aren’t there enough Canadians able to do the torch run? Why are people from different countries doing some of the run? Have no problem with Shawn doing it, but I thought it would be just Canadians doing it???
Love that Simon and Catriona did it!! Catriona is a huge inspiration to everyone who hears her speak.
Good question, Tracy. … Kyle Shewfelt has not even been confirmed yet. … I guess the Reality TV celebrities are given the prime spots first.
