BB, that explains why Taylor Swift and Eminem won for undeserving videos. Nothing against Taylor and her talent, but if we’re judging solely by videos I very much agree with Kanye. Maybe he could have voiced his opinion in a less deprecating manner, though.

Still, this really underscores why awards should not be voted on by the public.

Just because somebody is a douche bag doesn’t mean they can’t be partly right. My neighbor is really douchey but that doesn’t mean I’m going to disagree with him when he says the sky is blue.

Kanye is 32 years old and still hasn’t learned to take subjectively chosen awards in stride – what a freakin’ narcissist.

Regarding Beyonce, there are days I want to BE her! She’s such an amazing performer. Her Tina Turner routine at the Kennedy Center Honors was incredible.

BB, I’m pretty sure the only award voted on by the public is Viewer’s Choice. Hence the name. MTV rewarded everyone equally this year, which just shows how political awards have gotten. How could Beyonce win the biggest video award, for example, and lose to a lesser video in a smaller category?

Just Another Opinion, as with anything in art rarely is there anything original these days. It’s all about taking an old idea, putting your own spin on it and creating something else. I think it’s obvious Beyonce was inspired by Fosse. There are identical movements, for sure, but there are new ones as well. To say Beyonce’s video is a total duplicate of Fosse’s would be an exaggeration. Give credit where it’s due.

I don’t mean to take anything away from Beyonce, but I do think it is interesting to point out that “Single Ladies” is basically just a sexed-up version of Gwen Verdon’s “Mexican Breakfast.” In leotards, of course.

Here’s the video, someone set it to “Single Ladies” to prove the point.

Again, I don’t mean to insult Beyonce, but I just think, in order to deserve the praise “one of the greatest videos of all time,” you have to do something more original than what amounts to a modern remake.

Grant it, one can say “there’s nothing new under the sun,” but still. I think it’s just a little too close.

He was wrong all the way around. Taylor swift was chosen by votes. They didn’t vote for Beyonce, they voted for Taylor. So obviously more people thought Taylor’s video was better. Beyonce’s fans didn’t vote for her. Blame them, don’t say Kanye was in anyway right about anything that happened that night. He was wrong all the way around.
