I’m just home from our last competition of the year. And it was a good one.
The theme was Super Hero. And there were some terrific costumes.
Even better was the fantastic weather in the Canadian Rockies. In fact, Men’s coach Kelly Mock moved the pommel horse rotation outside so everyone could enjoy the scenery.

My favourite special prize was the “speeding ticket”, a $5 prize for the vaulter with the fastest run.
Thanks Marilou Gariepy and the entire Summit organizing committee.

The speeding ticket sounds like fun. And it’s cool that they went and put the pommel horse outdoors. That picture would look right at home in some of my older gym magazines which had outdoor gym meet pics.
very cool. love speeding ticket. i actually feel like the approach or run to the vault is something that should be judged for form and technique just as much as the flight phase and landing of the vault.
Here in the states, the run/approach is judged.
That’s pretty cool being outside. Bring back the ole’ days.
