The Minnesota state high school meet was held this past Thursday and Friday. That’s one part of the world where school gymnastics is still thriving.
Congratulations to everyone who participated.

UPDATE: apolytongp calls her the “real life Stick It girl” Hayley, from the movie. But without the “queen bee attitude”.

She’s like the real life Stick It girl. Except she doesn’t look like she has a queen bee attitude.
Hayley didn’t have a queen bee attitude in the movie. That was the other chick.
She had some kind of attitude. I mean blowing worlds and everything. Mouthing off to everyone.
Queen bee has an attitude and underlings. And I think she had a good reason to walk out of worlds. If you can’t concentrate because of mental or physical defect, you don’t need to be doing gymnastics. Too bad if it hurts the team.
I disagree. I think she should not have let the team down for her little fit. She deserved to have a coke thrown on her.
I think it would take an absolute robot to go on and perform safely when they just found out that their parents were splitting up.
She mouthed off that whole movie. Didn’t like the throwing the scores for no reason either. Girl needed a slap. Don’t buy into that contrived Hollywood tearjerker stuff.
Yeah, she mouthed off. I didn’t say she didn’t. I said she had a good reason to walk out of worlds.
Just to point out, Illinois HS State Meet finished mid February. Pretty good meet, though the sad part was very few doubles on floor, and the biggest clean vault was a yurchenko 1/2. Pike tsuks made it to finals for the first time in.. well.. since I was competing I think..
Other than that, bars was alright. Beam was pretty.
Im looking forward to the national meet results in May (I think it’s May..)
