Maloney to Geinger on Bars

At a Junior competition in France, Dutch gymnast Naoual Ouazzani Chahdi competed something NEW internationally for the first time, we think.

From Sher of Shergymrag:

… Maloney (toe on shaposh) into the backswing which she takes to above horizontal then she swings forward to geinger. If she can do a geinger from that backswing, maybe we’ll soon see the Jaeger straight out of the Maloney …

Click PLAY or watch it on YouTube.

This was in response to some commenters who dislike Shaposhnikova skills because they have a “built-in” extra swing.

Personally I have no problem with Shaposhnikova. Love the skill (even with the extra swing) and loved Natalia Shaposhnikova. One of my favourite gymnasts of all time.

It’s still an extra swing.

I don’t care if it’s an extra swing. That’s amazing!

“It’s still an extra swing.”

Maybe you should spend less time on the internet getting banned and more time training your own gymnasts so they don’t have to do all that code whorin’ you hate.

I just recently learned gymnastics. Started with this site. And the WWGymers taught me what a Pak salto was and who Produnova is.

I still think it looks like an extra swing.. I know it’s not, but it’s just… dead unused times…

A shiposhnikova to jaeger would be fantastic! Even a backup rise free hip.. SOMETHING to get rid of that empty space.. maybe a beat-full?

I dunno… I would never hesitate to teach the skill if asked to, but if I were to put together a routine, I would personally leave it out.

“I just recently learned gymnastics. ” You better get to work then.

I’m impressed. it’s pretty impressive that she can crank a geinger out of it. Also, want to clarify that i’m not a hater of the Shaposh skill. I love the flight phase of the skill when it opens up with big amplitude like this one, but would love to see it used in more interesting ways within routines. Will be interesting to see how it evolves.

I wonder if the same people complaining about the Shaposh would complain if everyone switched to the Shaposh 1/1 that was posted a little while back?

I would still say it’s a free swing.

Im not arguing it’s not a neat skill. I just feel like it doesnt flow well in routines. It’s like an off rhyme in a good poem..

Yes, I know, authors do that on purpose sometimes.. lets not get into a debate about it :(
