I like Laurens and Shanshan’s before Yulia’s

Lauren’s is clearly the winner, but I do like Lozchenko’s and Shanshan’s style. I like that Lauren has some different skills in there (the double wolf turn, layout step-out, layout and standing front sault). They’re 3 very good routines, it wasn’t a stellar field, but it was solid nonetheless!

Personally not a fan of the standing front tuck. It just looks chucky. Anyhow, on first impression I would have given it to Lozchenko.

I think Yulia was a little unstable- she even wobbled on a half turn. I think her lines are the nicest though. Shanshan’s routine didn’t have much substance. And I like Lauren’s routine but her switch ring leap was awful and I dont like the Humphrey turn (not just when she does it- I dont like it at all!)
All three girls didn’t seem to make many of their connections either. All three were ‘nice’ routines and being Aussie Im glad Lauren took the gold but it would have been nice to see a better field there.

Beam used to be my second favorite event but it’s so boring now. Pause, chuck, pause, chuck, pause, make a split below 180, etc.

Yulia’s standing front is so interesting. I can envision somebody going directly from choreography into a front like that. I bet it wold look so cool.
