I’m at the 2008 USAIGC / NACGC College Bound Invitational sponsored by Alpha Factor at the Silver Spurs Arena, Kissimmee, Orlando, Florida
For a $150 entry fee you get no judges. No awards. Gymnasts first also register as an USAIGC Athlete (personal insurance).
Girls are here to be evaluated by all the College coaches in the country.

Freshman & Sophomores (Grade 9 & 10 in 2008) cannot enter this meet. You must be in the last 2 years of High School.
If you end up getting a spot on a College Team, the money spent is a good investment.

It’s a great idea this competition. I recommend it.

I remember when this competition started. USAG immediately tried to do something similar but it flopped. I don’t think they put their back into it.
wouldn’t it make more sense to restrict the competition to sophomores and juniors? haven’t seniors either gotten scholarships and been accepted onto a team by this point or not? (I may be missing something)
This is more of a “last chance” event.
For example, one coach told me that 5 of his girls had signed or were about to sign. They did not attend.
But his other girls — 7 or 8 of them !! — were still seeking offers.
One had a pretty secure spot, but he thought if she competed that she may get an even better scholarship.
YES … this is one of the very best clubs in the USA. A factory for producing NCAA College gymnasts.
And some girls in this meet will not go to the NCAA.
ahh…gotcha. that makes more sense. well best of luck to all the competitors–college-level gymnastics looks like a lot of fun in addition to all the hard work.
Cool, I like the idea of this meet a lot.
