extreme Parkour acrobatics

I am reluctant to post this video clip.

Several stunts included are not smart. I don’t like seeing simple skills done in a very dangerous place. Show me extremely difficult acrobatics in a relatively safe place.

Bad injuries will ruin the reputation of free running and Parkour.

On the other hand, some of the stunts included are “best I’ve ever seen”. Very cool. And very smart.

The showing off has being a really big problem inside the Parkour/freerunning world. In Parkour by many years we have tried to tell people that we don’t care about impressive stuff, dangerous places, and that the best training are the one that keep you alive. But on the other hands Free runners are always trying to impress others and make something harder or dangerous… it’s quite sad :/

The big drops are the most stunning (and I would think rather dangerous). I am intellectually intersted in the biomechanics of proper landing and rolling and what is intrinsically possible.

While doing tricks is cool and to be applauded for, IMO, despite the danger ( this is where the no guts, no glory or darwin effect comes to play ) it really isn’t what the heart of parkour is. Looking at it from it’s origins or a tactical perspective…anything beyond what is necessary is excessive. While it could be said that none of it is necessary, that could be debated and I tend to look at it more in the face of what is necessary either running away or to a goal, especially in the context of application in the real world ( being in field gear, camping, etc ).
