I was reminded of the wonderful Roland Carrasco books published long ago in French by Vigot Editions, Paris. (Their website no longer lists Carrasco’s titles.)
I have Gymnastique aux agrès, still listed but not available from Amazon France. It is great and still useful if you cannot read French. The best bits are excellent diagrams.

I have not seen a second Carrasco book listed: Gymnastique des 3 à 7 ans : Une approche nouvelle pour des apprentissages illimités.
Do you know where to get your hands on used copies of these two and his other publications? If so, leave a comment below.

I have all of Roland Carrasco’s books and am translating all of them into English. I have already translated 2 3/4 of the books completely and am working on another one. Look closely in the background of some Russian training videos and you will see Gymnova equipment. France, Roland Carrasco, and the Russians have been working together for many years. I also sell Russian training DVD’s for Dance, Balance Beam, and Uneven Parallel Bars. I was the first person in the U.S. to produce an instructional gymnastics DVD for coaches. I am currently working on finishing a large collection of training videos for coaches from the former Soviet Union which will also include Tumbling and Trampoline.

Monti, do you know anywhere that has Carrasco’s books. I’d be very interested in seeing your translations. Can you let us know here when and where you’ve published?
Many thanks,
Warren
Excellent, Monti.
Please leave another comment when you get any one of the excellent texts translated.

I have Gymnastique Aux Agres – Preparation Physique and Gymnastique Aux Agres – Le Activite Du Debutant translated. The first of these two books is quite incredible. My translation of the first book is pretty good overall. I believe that translations of these books will reveal a pretty good framework of European gymnastics systems that are very worthy of study. I am working on all of his books at once right now. Please send me your e-mail address and I will send you some samples of the pages I have translated. Maybe they could be posted on this site. I have also produced four Russian gymnastics DVD’s for coaches and have sold many throughout the country. I own a gym in Indiana and have used Roland Carrasco’s materials to design my programs. I have written Mr. Carrasco in the past and he has replied everytime. I think it is great that people are seeking this gifted author information. There is another French author who based his Floor Exercise Tumbling book on Mr. Carrasco’s work. I have translated half of that book. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Sincerely,

Hi Rick,
How can I find the Roland Carrasco book?
And, do you still have a video of a Hungarian girls bar session? You first gave me this with some Edouard Iarov film when he was France. It is some the best “Giant” drills I have seen. Someone borrowed it and never returned it. Do you know what I’m talking about?
Tony
Dear Monti,
With respect to your entry on Feb 22, would you be kind enough to send me some of your translations and let me know how I may purchase your DVD’s as well.
Thank you
Hi Monti,
I’ve been searching for Carrasco’s books for some time and have just seen your comments on this site. I’d be very interested in getting copies of your translations. Can you let me know how to go about this? Also, have you translated the one on mini circuits yet?
Regards
Jeff Davis
