tumbling trampoline – UPDATE

At Altadore Gymnastics we are shopping for a tumbling trampoline.

In the States coaches recommended the Tumbl Track model. At least 40′ long.

Coach Mack likes Ross tumbling tramps. They are made by Canadian company Rebound Products. Their “Power Track” (used by Cirque du Soleil) is the one we are now leaning towards.

I’m not as much of a fan of the one you’ve got pictured. I’ve used two of them without really falling in love.

The gym I’m moving to tommorow has one, so I guess I better get used to it.

Others I work with swear by it, so…

I’ve been on many different types of tumble trampolines. My favorite is by “Ross”. Google it. It’s wider, bouncier, yet more stable and “floor”- like.

The body takes a lot of pounding from tumbling. The tumble tramps definitely help. I never trained on them growing up but if I had these when I was younger, I would have done better.

You can get a lot more out of your athletes with tumble trampolines. When they are fatigued, I take them there, or I make it part of the circuit/stations.

It’s a good place to work on form. The trampoline slows everything down. So, I always tell my kids to relax more, ‘take it easy’, ‘slow it down’, ‘its about control and patience’,.

My friend Anthony believes that on tumble trak, all your form breaks are exagerrated. If you have a little bit of form break, you’ll see it on tumble trak, he believes.

I’m curious about the “power track”.

Where is it on the site? I couldn’t find it.

Right. The website is vague, at best. The main mention is:

Most of my information is from personal email from Dave Ross and his staff. Sounds like the Power Track is the same one used by Cirque. A two-string bed.

Cost is about US$3000 / 10 foot section.

When did these come out and start being used? I don’t remember them in the 80s.
