We have never had a good set at the club.
Sometime in future we need 12 inch wide bars like these ones at U of C.

equipment “wish list” - Pack-man mat

October 31st, 2006 · No Comments

This thing is popular in some clubs as kids can (eventually) do something like a back handspring by themselves.
It is lousy for competitive, but great for rec.
More photos of this thing in action from Olympic Gymnastics, Perth.

equipment “wish list” - beam mats

Rick McCharles
The best I’ve ever seen is the matting at the Christchurch School of Gymnastics in New Zealand.
I was there for installation, custom fit carpeted mats held tightly together with wide Velcro. It was done by a local mat maker who took pride in producing equipment at a far lower price than the major companies, […]

Altadore really needs more “cheese” mats.

equipment “wish list” - low rings on a pulley

October 31st, 2006 · No Comments

Spieth does not sell rings on a pulley.
We could make our own. They would be very similar to the ring machine built by Ed Vincent.
Cost about $200.

equipment “wish list” - pommel mushroom

October 31st, 2006 · No Comments

2 Mushrooms would be ideal. Perhaps one of each of these.
Spiethe w/out pommel $775.00 w/ pommel $900.00

Spiethe is known to be expensive.
Ultra Dome Complete by Gym Trix is listed on-line for only US$250 or so.

For another $100 the Ultra Dome adds this unusual single pommel. I’ve seen it, […]
